Founded by Marc Silberbauer, Mike Rasch and Dimitri Balios, Codeplex was born from a fusion of two independent ventures – one specialising in spend direction and procurement, the other in claims management. 

Our first major success came when we outperformed global players to win the ABSA Insurance Supplier Management contract, proving that our deep industry knowledge and agile solutions could rival even the biggest players. From there, our growth was (and continues to be) fuelled by strong client relationships and proven results, leading to long-term partnerships with some of the most respected names in insurance.

The Birth of Marshan Technologies and Codeplex
  • Codeplex is founded to build a Motor Damage Assessing Platform for Regent Insurance
  • Marshan Technologies is born to provide Spend Analysis to Mines and Manufacturing Companies
2007
Early Success and Market Entry
  • Codeplex secures key contracts with Regent Insurance, Renasa Insurance, and Absa Insurance for its motor assessing platform, establishing itself as a trusted industry partner
  • Marshan Technologies signs spend analysis contracts at Tiger Brands, Omnia and Lonmin and adds Contract Management to its Spend Direction platform
2008/2009
A Year of Milestones
  • Codeplex & Marshan Technologies combine their Claims and Procurement software to launch our first basic supplier management system, integrating spend analysis, contract management, supplier portal and claims module
  • We won the Absa tender for supply chain management, outperforming bigger and more established competitors
2012
Expanding Our Client Footprint & Capabilities
  • Through strong industry relationships and client referrals, we welcomed Hollard, Bryte, PSG and Santam into the Codeplex family
  • Codeplex and Marshan Technologies merged
2016
A Year of Significant Growth
  • We secured contracts with SA Taxi, Western National Insurance and MiWay expanding our client base
  • Our successful integration with Genasys SKi software for SA Home Loans led to partnerships with King Price, CTU and Guardrisk
2018
A Strategic Leap Forward
  • Codeplex merges with the Cardinal Group, unlocking opportunities for global expansion and innovation
  • Our team grew from just 2 people in 2007 to a skilled workforce of 50
2022
Codeplex Goes Global and Cements its Position in the Industry
  • We secured contracts with clients in the UK, expanding our international presence
  • We welcomed many new clients including Lombard, Discovery, OMI, MotorVaps and IUM, further solidifying our position as a leader in insurance technology

Managing Director

Ian has been with Codeplex since our early days. With a background in Business Administration and a strong technical focus, he has structured and refined Codeplex’s operational model to support the business as it scales and played a key role in our growth, securing major clients and establishing a highly agile and innovative team.

His expertise has enabled the redesign of financial frameworks, creating a robust foundation for future product expansions. Ian is also responsible for building key internal infrastructure, designing DevOps frameworks, streamlining workflows, and driving process-driven efficiencies to enhance organisational agility.

Guided by integrity, accountability and resilience, Ian is committed to cultivating solutions that create real business impact while empowering others to grow. He is an ambitious solutionist, continuously seeking new ideas to drive innovation.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and animals, reflecting, and strategising what’s next.

Marc Silberbauer

Co-Founder and Director

Marc has over 18 years of experience in the technology and business solutions sectors where he has expertly navigated the ever-evolving landscape of custom software development. His visionary leadership has positioned Codeplex as a trusted partner in transforming business operations through technology.

Marc specialises in business process optimisation, and he excels in redesigning and re-engineering processes to create more efficient, scalable, and impactful solutions. Under his guidance, Codeplex has delivered innovative solutions that streamline procurement and supply chain operations, enhance customer experiences and drive measurable business growth.

His ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders has been a key factor in our ability to develop custom solutions that enable clients to achieve long-term success.

Mike Rasch

Co-Founder and Director of Business Development

Mike leads high-impact sales engagements, demonstrates the value of our solutions through hands-on product showcases and works closely with clients to tailor solutions that address complex claims and supplier management challenges. Outside of work, he enjoys a game of padel, quality time with his family and pets and advocating for animal welfare.

Yudi Naidu

Director and Head of Customer Success

With a deep technical understanding and a strategic focus, he ensures that our solutions seamlessly integrate with clients’ existing systems to streamline claims and supplier management processes, reduce costs and improve overall business performance.

Head of Customer Support

She leads a high-performing team focused on streamlining support processes, resolving issues swiftly, and utilising customer feedback to optimise service delivery. Her ability to stay calm under pressure, coupled with her deep understanding of client needs, allows her to continuously drive meaningful improvements.

David Eccles

Head of Project Office

David ensures seamless execution and operational excellence across all projects at Codeplex. With a wealth of experience in project management, David plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of project execution and delivery, ensuring Codeplex’s solutions drive efficiency, innovation, and long-term success for short-term insurers.

David focuses on aligning projects with the company’s broader business objectives, ensuring each initiative delivers measurable results and value to clients. He drives agile transformation within the organisation, embedding Scrum methodologies to foster collaboration, enhance delivery speed and streamline processes.

His hands-on approach to project governance, strategic resource planning and risk mitigation allows Codeplex to remain agile and adaptable while exceeding client expectations.

Shan Silberbauer

Head of Support Services

Shan spearheads the operational systems that support Codeplex’s rapid growth. With over 14 years of experience, Shan ensures that our financial, compliance and operational systems are efficient, scalable and aligned with long-term objectives.

With a strategic approach and diverse expertise, Shan has built the operational infrastructure from the ground up, overseeing everything from accounts payable/receivable to payroll and procurement.

Her hands-on leadership has strengthened our growth, supporting our transition from a startup to a trusted partner to over 30 of South Africa’s leading insurance organisations.

Outside of work, Shan enjoys spending time outdoors, whether walking on the beach, hiking the mountains, or enjoying quality moments with her children.

Sherish Naidu

Head of Professional Services

Sherish is a seasoned leader with over 17 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specialising in business analysis and project delivery. With a proven track record, Sherish has delivered exceptional results across clients by leveraging her extensive experience and expertise in different project methodologies.

Under her leadership, we have seen significant advancements in our professional services division, enhancing client relationships and streamlining service delivery.
